About Myself

Ever since my childhood, I’ve had a thing about clothes.
My mother was a seamstress, and as a little girl, I would sit next to her for hours, making clothes for my dolls with leftover fabric.
Not just sewing, but also knitting. I would replicate everything and experiment freely!

When I grew up, I lost touch with it amidst the busyness of family life, but now that the kids are grown and I have more time for myself, and after dealing with burnout, I’ve rediscovered my creativity! Being creative was my healing!

From sewing, I also returned to knitting because wool is ‘one of my guilty pleasures’! I quickly made one cardigan after another sweater (knitting is really a kind of therapy :)). I delved into wool processing so I could knit with my own spun wool! A very fascinating process, from raw fleece to finished product!

My very first handspun yarn! I wanted to make something with it, but it wasn't good enough for clothing yet, so I made a jacket for my plant 🙂
Alpaca yarn processed artisanally, with my own label 'lalouknits' named after my 3 children Lars, Louka, and Niki.
