Breipakket Poimuvest

De Poimu vest is een patroon van de getalenteerde Finse ontwerpster Camille Romano. De Poimu wordt gemaakt met Lalouknits Fluff Colour.

MATERIALS
Yarn: Fluff Colour Alpaca by Lalouknits (68% cotton, 22% superfine alpaca, 10% merino, 15% silk, 50 gr – 110 m / 120 yds)
6 (7, 7, 8) (9, 9, 10) balls 

POIMU means “crease” in Finnish. The inspiration came from the yarn I used with its shades of grey, rust and brown. It reminded me of rock formations and geological creases, which gave me the idea to add tucks at the front.

The vest is worked top-down: the back is worked flat in stockinette and finished with a ribbed hem. Then, each front is picked up at the shoulder and the tuck pattern starts at the same time as the shaping of the short v-neck. They are seamed to the back using a slight variant of the mattress stitch. Finally, a short ribbing is worked around the armholes and all around the front for a neat finish.
