The inspiration came from the yarn I used with its shades of grey, rust and brown. It reminded me of rock formations and geological creases, which gave me the idea to add tucks at the front.  <\/p>\n<p>The vest is worked top-down: the back is worked flat in stockinette and finished with a ribbed hem. Then, each front is picked up at the shoulder and the tuck pattern starts at the same time as the shaping of the short v-neck. They are seamed to the back using a slight variant of the mattress stitch.
